Conversations with Ada: Installment 3

Please note cut on her lip for the first day of camp.  Someone wanted to shave like her Daddy.

Sam, "Ada, what did you do at school today?"

Ada, in the backseat of the car on their way home, "You talk for me, Dad. I'm tired."

Garbage can for Oscar the Grouch

Later that day.

Michele, "Ada, how was summer camp today? What did you do?"

Ada, "I can't talk, Mom."

Big Bird

Thankfully we have evidence of what she did this week.

 Little stinker.

The inevitable

I don't like how quickly this is happening.

How fast they are growing.

Crawling.
Baby food.
Helping to set the table.
Dressing all on her own.
Summer camp.
Saying things like, "I am growing up".

The list goes on.

Pretending to be a Doctor with Sam's belt as her stethoscope

I bought this onsie before I was even pregnant with Ada.  Ada wore it and now he is about to grow out of it, too.

I know I should be happy about this.

I am not.

Sorry this is blurry - Ada took a picture of her "brudder" in his Santa hat

Proud of her braid

It is all happening way too fast.

I suppose I will just be proud instead.

It takes a lot to feed a 700lb pig

My sister, Stephanie is on the board of Sanctuary One, a nonprofit care farm in Jacksonville, Oregon.  Steph loves animals, and has devoted many years to serving rescue animals (she has fostered and adopted a few of them, actually).  Sanctuary One is a wonderful care farm serving rescued farm animals.  Sam, Ada and I had the opportunity to visit it last summer when we were home.  Ada had a blast, and we got to meet Lisa, the 700lb pig (whose previous owner hit her in the face with a 2x4 whenever she escaped).

Ada with her Dad and Aunt Steph visiting Lisa the Pig. I love that in true Roland-fashion, Steph is worrying about something, in this case that Lisa the Pig will bust open the gate and mow Ada over.

Sanctuary One has an opportunity to win a fruit orchard - that is, if they get enough votes.  The contest is in its second round of voting, with a few more rounds to go.  Sanctuary One was in the top 10 at the beginning of the first voting round, but has dropped out of the top 20.  So, I ask that if you read this blog, please vote everyday so that Sanctuary One can secure a spot in the 2nd or 3rd round and win an orchard to help feed and serve the rescued farm animals that come under its care.

You have to subscribe with your email address/password. I have not received any unwelcome solicitations (and if I have, gmail has sent them to SPAM for me).  Once you have subscribed, go to the state list, click on the link for Jacksonville, Oregon.

Please try and vote every day, and while you are at it - "like" them on Facebook!

Come on - it's a good thing!

I can't believe this was almost a year ago. She has grown so much!
